All-new Range Rover achieves 5-star Euro NCAP rating

Whitley, UK, November 28, 2012: The all-new Range Rover has been awarded five stars for safety performance by Euro NCAP. This is the highest award achievable for safety standards within Europe demonstrating Land Rover’s continuous commitment to engineering excellence.

“This is the second vehicle launched in as many years with Range Rover Evoque achieving the same result in 2011. Euro NCAP has significantly increased the Pedestrian Protection target in 2012 and Land Rover has risen to the challenge with the all-new Range Rover achieving one of the highest ever scores for pedestrian protection within its vehicle category. It’s an incredible achievement and testament to the dedication of our engineering team,” said John Edwards, Land Rover Global Brand Director.

The all-new Range Rover further demonstrates the manufacturer commitment to sustainability. It is 420kg lighter than its predecessor and has outstanding results for occupant protection; achieving maximum points in numerous areas within the Euro NCAP tests. Land Rover says it is currently looking into new technologies for future models to improve safety protection even further – particularly pedestrian protection.
