Škoda Auto India will increase prices of its range of cars by 1 percent to 1.8 percent price increase. The new prices will come into effect early August.
Currently, Škoda vehicles are sold in the range of Rs. 4.96 lakh to Rs. 30.50 lakh (on-road, Delhi).
According to the company, the revised pricing is a result of increasing input prices and volatile exchange rates. Driven mainly by the healthy demand of its entry level sedan Rapid, Škoda Auto India registered sales of 4923 cars in June 2012, a growth of 89 percent over the same period last year.
India is playing an increasingly important role in this Volkswagen group company’s “2018 Growth Strategy”. Under the plan, Škoda aims to increase its global sales to at least 1.5 million per year.
