Mahindra USA hasopened its fourth North American assembly and distribution facility in Bloomsburg, Pennslyvania.

Called the Mahindra Authorized Distribution Center, it will specialise in meeting the requirements of Mahindra’s new products – the Mahindra Max series tractors and compact tractors – both developed primarily for this market. The new facility will provide support and service to Mahindra’s northeast US and eastern Canadian dealers and partners. The unit will be run in partnership with TPC Power Center.

Mahindra and TPC have converted an empty warehouse on five acres into a fully-functional 40,000 square foot facility that will employ up to 30 people in the operation as it moves into full production.

Initially, the facility will assemble 200 tractors per month with the capacity to produce 500 per month,” said RuzbehIrani, chief executive - International Operations (Automobile and Farm Sectors).

M&M’s total tractor sales (domestic and exports) in August 2012 stood at 13,234 units as compared to 16,003 units for August 2011. Exports in August were 840 units as against 944 units in August 2011.
