Zero Motorcycles, the California (USA)-based manufacturer of premium electric motorcycles and powertrains, with whom India’s Hero Motorcycles is finalising a collaboration agreement to co-develop electric motorcycles, has showcased its latest range of products at EICMA 2022 in Milan, Italy. As is known, Hero MotoCorp’s board has also approved an equity investment up to US$60 million (Rs 484 crore) in Zero Motorcycles.

Zero Motorcycles, whose display is located at Hall 13, Stand M72 at EICMA which is open till November 13, manufactures all-electric sportbikes, naked bikes, ADVs and dual-sport machines.

The EV OEM’s EICMA highlight is the all-new Zero DSR/X with its ground-breaking design and performance capability. The zero-emissions bike has an upright riding position with high ground clearance, coupled with instant and smooth acceleration powered by Zero’s newest direct drive motor, the Z-Force 75-10X, to easily tackle extreme terrain.

This new motor configuration produces the highest output of power ever from a Zero – a whopping 166 ft-lb of torque. Rear shock preload settings are hand-adjustable to dial in a smooth ride with light or heavy loads. The DSR/X is the first electric motorcycle with Bosch’s Offroad Motorcycle Stability Control (MSC) which adds further safety, control, and confidence for riders of all experience levels on/off-road in variable traction conditions.

Also, the DSR/X is capable of new Cypher III+ features like faster charging, more battery capacity, turn-by-turn navigation, and Parking Mode which adds the ability to ease forward and backward into a parking spot or to aid in clearing tough obstacles.

Entire MY2023 range showcased
Also on display is the company’s entire 2023 range including the established SR/F, SR/S, FXE, DSR and SR. The SR/F, which is equipped with Zero’s new ZF75-10 motor and new ZF17.3 kWh lithium-ion battery, delivers 190 Nm of torque and 110 horsepower.

The company had officially announced and unveiled its MY2023 range on September 13 this year.

The SR/F’s sibling, SR/S is inspired by cutting-edge aerospace design and the look rooted in its aerodynamic fairing. Zero Motorcycles claims a 13% improvement in highway efficiency and range with the SR/S compared to the SR/F.

There’s also the FXE, developed in partnership with award-winning design firm, Huge Design. The American EV maker's range essentially comprises five street bikes – SR/S, SR/F, SR, S and FXE – and four dual-sport machines – DSR/X, DSR, DS and FX.
