The Yamaha EO1 and EO2 scooter concepts are to have their world premieres at the Tokyo Motor Show later this month.

Yamaha Motor Corporation is to officially reveal two new electric scooter concepts – the EO1 and EO2 – at the Tokyo Motor Show later this month.  

The E01 is a sporty looking urban commuter model with a power output comparable to a 125cc scooter engine, is fast-charge compatible and, according to Yamaha, “provides plenty of range and comfort.” Combining Yamaha’s scooter and EV technologies, the EO1 is claimed to offer practicality for everyday use as well as a quality ride exceeding that of conventional scooters.

The other electric two-wheeler, the EO2, is a next-generation electric commuter with power output comparable to a 50cc scooter engine and designed to offer personal mobility in cities. It features a compact, lightweight and easy-to-handle vehicle body and comes with an easily removable battery. Yamaha says, the EO2 will deliver “smooth ride EVs are known for and offer new value for electric mobility by adding even more fun.”

Yamaha will also showcase the Land Link Concept. This autonomous vehicle solution can move freely across outdoor terrain by sensing its surroundings. AI-based image recognition allows it to decide its route independently and automatically avoid obstacles detected in the vehicle’s path. Each of the four wheels can be steered and driven independently, giving the model the ability to move in every direction. With its high mobility potential, it has the dexterity to work on a variety of tasks.
