Honda has announced a wide range of concepts, production cars and motorcycles that it will present at the 44th Tokyo Motor Show.

The company’s broad portfolio of models will be showcased under its brand slogan – The Power of Dreams. The highlights include its all-new fuel cell vehicle, provisionally called the FCV, the all-new NSX hybrid supercar, several racing machines and a number of innovative motorcycle concept models

Honda FCV
The company has claimed the FCV, tentatively-named, to be the world’s first production model of a fuel-cell powered saloon to house the entire fuel-cell powertrain in the space normally occupied by the engine and transmission. The FCV features a cruising range of more than 700 km, made possible by the high-output motors. The Japanese specification FCV can also act as a mobile power plant thanks to its external power feeding inverter, meaning that it will generate and provide electricity to communities in the case of an emergency.

New models for Japan
The all-new Civic Type R is also expected to make its Japanese debut at the show. Produced at Honda manufacturing in the UK, sales in Japan of the all-new Type R will commence later this year. The carmaker will also be displaying the all-new S660 open-top sports mini-vehicle, which is sold exclusively in Japan.

Innovative modern concepts
Honda will be exhibiting several concept models, including Honda Project 2&4 powered by RC213V, which made its global debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September. Other concepts on display are Honda’s Wander Stand and Wander Walker.

Light Weight Super Sports Concept
The next-gen super sport concept model features a combination of surfaces and sharp edges. Moreover, it sports an eye-catching exterior featuring matte-black-based low-contrast graphics.

Neowing
The carmaker claims that the three-wheeled Neowing offers the cornering feel and sporty ride of a large-sized motorcycle while realizing excellent stability at low speeds. It is equipped with a hybrid system that combines a horizontally-opposed 4-cylinder engine and electric motors to generate plentiful torque for powerful acceleration.

EV-Cub Concept
A personal commuter model for short-distance commuting that follows the concept of an “easy-to-handle and economical motorcycle.” Placing the battery, a heavy component, at a low position in the middle of the body, allows easy mounting and dismounting. Moreover, ease-of-handling was pursued through concentration of mass and lowering of the centre of gravity. Moreover, the battery was made detachable, and rechargeable using a standard home wall socket.
