Tata Motors launches Nexon EV in Nepal for Rs 22.5 lakh

The company says customers can become a part of the priority delivery list by booking the electric SUV at a refundable amount of NPR 25,000.

Tata Motors has launched its popular electric vehicle offering the Nexon EV in Nepal in partnership with Sipradi Trading at NPR 35.99 lakh (Rs 22.5 lakh).

The Nexon EV will be available in three variants (XM, XZ+ and XZ+ Lux) in Nepalese market and will come with a warranty of 8 years or 160,000km (whichever is earlier) on the battery and 3 years 125,000km (whichever is earlier) on the vehicle.

The company says customers can become a part of the priority delivery list by booking the electric SUV at a refundable amount of NPR 25,000. The e-SUV is on display and have been made available for test drives across the dealer network by Sipradi Trading.

Launched on January 28, 2020, the eco-friendly compact SUV has seen rapid consumer acceptance. It had crossed the 1,000 mark on August 18, seven months after rollout, the 2,000-unit mark in 10 months on December 2, 2020, and crossed the 4,000 mark by end-March 2021, 14 months after launch. Total sales 18 months after launch are 5,734 units.

In the first quarter of FY2022 (apil-June 2021), the Nexon EV has gone home to 1,643 buyers. This is 43% of entire FY2021’s Nexon EV sales of 3,805 units, indicating that the green SUV is headed for a record year this fiscal.

Additionally, Tata Motors will also set up a complete EV ecosystem including EV products, service package, warranty on battery, charging infrastructure with state-of-the-art DC chargers at strategic locations across the country and innovative home charging facilities.
