Subaru is commemorating its 50 years of operations in the United States by coming out with the limited production version of some of its models.

Subaru celebrated its 50th Anniversary on 15th January 2018 with a special ceremony for its 500+ employees at its headquarters in New Jersey. The ceremony was addressed by Thomas J. Doll, President and COO for Subaru of America, Inc. (SOA). Besides unveiling a 300-pound bronze plaque by local artist Chad Fisher at the headquarters in Cherry Hill, NJ, SOA had begun its golden jubilee celebrations from 2017 itself by donating 50 new 2018 Subaru Outback vehicles to select Meals on Wheels programs throughout the US. SOA initiated its’50 Cars for 50 Years’ vehicle donation to suit its spirit for supporting good causes and the local community.

The limited edition models introduced by SOA are based on a high-level trim and come with new exclusive colours, unique badging and with exterior and interior accents. SOA aims to produce only 1,050 units each of Crosstrek, Forester, Impreza, Legacy and Outback. WRX, STI and BRZ will have a combined total of 1,050. The Anniversary editions have an exclusive Heritage Blue exterior color, satin chrome exterior trim and badging, unique alloy wheels (excludes BRZ), exterior side mirrors finished in satin chrome (excludes BRZ, WRX, and STI), black upholstery with contrasting silver stitching for the cabin, silver seatbelts, 50th anniversary logo embroidered on the front seats and carpeted floor mats.

All the anniversary models come at a slight premium than its usual production models. These models have already been put up for sale in the US.
