SEMA 2019:  Rush Auto unveils affordable race car Rush SR-1

At less than $30,000, Rush SR-1 can deliver GT-3 level performance

Rush Auto Works (RAW), a US-based high-performance race and track day car manufacturer, has unveiled the Rush SR-1 at SEMA 2019. The Rush SR-1 is a new track day and spec series race car that RAW claims, offers near GT-3 performance for a fraction of the cost. Weighing in at only 850 lbs (385 kg), the in-line 4, 1000 cc engine delivers 145 WHP of maximum power at less than $ 30,000 (Rs 21 lakh).

Rush Auto Works has confirmed that the car features 4130 Cr Mo (Chromium Molybdenum) frame, fibreglass bodywork, a six-speed sequential paddle-shift gearbox and fully adjustable independent suspension and shock absorbers. The bodywork is made up of 19 panels to keep replacement part costs down in keeping with the rest of the component parts.

Rush Auto Works have contracted with NASA Pro Racing to run the inaugural RAW Race Series for 2020 as a central series and are currently planning to expand the series to include a Pacific and Atlantic region for 2021. The company claims to currently have orders for 14 cars and has the first production run of 20 cars launched at their Houston manufacturing facility.

David Hosie, the company president, has stated that he feels confident based on initial interest at SEMA and the upcoming PRI show in December, that the company will have over 20 cars in customers hands to take the green flag at the first race of the year.
