Schuler wins major order from China, FAW VW orders 3 servo press lines

FAW-Volkswagen Automotive Co., Ltd has ordered three press lines with direct servo technology and three servo presses for tool testing and training for work in China.

Schuler AG has received one of the largest orders in the 175-year history in this anniversary year. 

FAW-Volkswagen Automotive Co., Ltd has ordered three press lines with direct servo technology and three servo presses for tool testing and training for work in China. On the servo press lines arise mainly body parts for cars, such as hoods and doors. The order has a volume of more than 150 million euros.

FAW Volkswagen to invest for the first time in press lines with direct servo technology. These are especially powerful. Compared to the previously used conventional mechanical press lines their productivity is higher by about 20 percent, while consuming significantly less energy this. 

"Even in the Chinese market we are seeing a growing interest in servo technology. The contract underlines our leading role in forming technology, "said Stefan Klebert, CEO of Schuler Group. The servo direct-drive technology provides thanks to electronically controlled engines not only for a high output, but also for flexibility, energy efficiency and low unit costs.
