Nissan will reveal the all-new IMQ concept at next week’s Geneva motor show, believed to preview a future C-segment, Qashqai-sized SUV.

The company has only released a design sketch of the IMQ at this stage, which reveals that it will feature a raised ride height, performance-inspired styling and take the form of a crossover-coupé in the same vein as the recently revealed Cupra Formentor.

As with most automotive design studies, the IMQ’s exaggerated proportions clearly mark it out as a concept. Large wheels, ultra-thin tyres and a narrow window aperture are styling characteristics that will likely be toned down for any future production model based on the IMQ.

The model’s sweeping roofline, extended rear spoiler and angular wheel design hint at a performance-oriented design, implying that the concept could take the form of a ‘hot crossover' like the firm’s Juke Nismo.

Details concerning the IMQ’s powertrain and dimensions are scarce, but Nissan says the model “embodies the future of Nissan Intelligent Mobility and gives a sneak peek as to what might be in your future driveway.”

Nissan’s Intelligent Mobility division is responsible for the development of new autonomous technology.

January’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas saw the sub-brand display its new ‘Invisible-to-Visible’ technology, allowing drivers to see potential hazards around corners.
