Nissan sells 506,191 units globally in June 2018, continues its healthy streak in China

Nissan claims to have registered record sales for the month of June in China and the US.

Nissan sells 506,191 units globally in June 2018, continues its healthy streak in China

Japanese carmaker Nissan has reportedly sold 506,191 units globally in June 2018, an increase of 0.7 percent YoY. The company’s sales were dismal across all the markets except China, Japan, Canada and the US.  They claim that their y-o-y sales in the US set a new record for the month of June.

The company reported that its global production volume has decreased by 6.6 percent (465,161 units) in June 2018. For January-June 2018, Nissan’s global production figure stood at 2,768,730 units, a drop of 4.1 percent as compared to the earlier year. Similar to the previous month, Nissan enjoyed its highest sales figures from North America (187,772) and the US (145,096) in the month of June 2018.

Nissan states that it sold 2,854,187 units between January-June 2018 with reference to 2,894,311 units for the same period last year. 

The production numbers were largely driven by China with 741,687 units during January-June 2018 as compared to 675,298 units in 2017. The figures from China were closely followed by the US (422,212) and a cumulative posting from Taiwan, Thailand, Philippines, South Africa, Indonesia, Brazil, India, Egypt, Russia, France and South Korea (430,031).
