Mercedes-Benz launches made-in-India BS VI LWB E-Class

New E-Class in its 10th generation is now available in E200 and E220d in two new variants each, priced from Rs 57.50 lakh onwards.

Mercedes-Benz launches made-in-India BS VI LWB E-Class

Luxury car market leader Mercedes-Benz India today launched the first ever BS VI Long Wheelbase (LWB) E-Class sedan in four variants – E200 Expression (Rs 57.50 lakh), E200 Exclusive (Rs 61.50 lakh), E220d Expression (Rs 58.50 lakh) and E220d Exclusive (Rs 62.50 lakh).

The new E-Class in its 10th generation is a comprehensive luxury business sedan that intelligently blends driving performance with unmatched luxury and comfort, boasting of the ‘most spacious’ rear cabin in the segment.

The New LWB E-Class  features two state-of-the-art BS 6 compliant petrol and diesel engines and also new interior appointments and feature additions. These include an intuitive rear touchpad, Burmester high-end surround sound system, widescreen digital cockpit (12.3 inch) and a rear wireless charger.

While the E220d is powered by the BS VI OM 654, 1950cc, in-line 4 diesel engine that develops 194hp and 400 Nm of torque and goes from 0 -100kph in 7.3 seconds, the E200 features the BS 6 M 264, 1991cc, 197hp, 320 Nm engine that helps the car go from 0 -100kph in 8 seconds.

Since 1995, there are over 41,000 E-Class’ on Indian roads, making it India’s highest selling luxury executive sedan. The LWB E-Class remains the most popular luxury sedan for Mercedes-Benz India and it is the carmaker’s first India-specific car. In fact, India is the only country to have launched the RHD version of the ‘long wheelbase’ new E-Class.
