Premium saloon grows 80 mm in length to provide more passenger legroom.
Mercedes-Benz has produced an extended version of its C-Class for the Chinese market – and it’s shown the new model in public at the Beijing motor show.
The C-Class L, as it is called, is 80mm longer than its regular sibling to provide rear passengers with more legroom. Occupants in the back can also electronically control the front passenger seat to free up more space.
Power comes from the same choice of engines offered with the regular car. The latest C-Class is offered with 48v electric architecture with a belt driven alternator to provide a mild hybrid boost to performance and efficiency.
Mercedes’s new C-Class L is one of several long-wheelbase models to be launched in Beijing to cater to the unique preference of Chinese customers for more rear legroom. It also introduced an A-Class Saloon L, while Audi has launched the Q5L.
