Jaguar Land Rover has delivered another strong sales performance in May 2014, selling 38,831 vehicles in the month, up 20 percent versus the same period last year. For the calendar year so far, JLR has sold 200,778 vehicles, up 14 percent.
The May model-wise break-up was as follows: the China region up 53 percent, North America up 19 percent, the UK up 15 percent, Asia Pacific up 11 percent, and Europe up 8 percent. Sales in overseas markets were in line with prior year.
Andy Goss, JLR’s sales operations director, said: “The continued success of the F-Type convertible, coupled with the launch of the Coupe, has supported Jaguar sales momentum. For Land Rover, the Range Rover Sport and Evoque continue to deliver impressive sales performance.”
In May, Jaguar sold 6,450 vehicles, up four percent. Jaguar’s regional performance was as follows: the China Region up 37 percent, the UK up 7 percent and Asia Pacific up 3 percent. Sales in Europe and North America were lower year on year.
Land Rover sold 32,381 vehicles, up 23 percent with strong performances across the range. Region-wise, China sales were up 57 percent, North America up 29 percent, the UK up 17 percent, Asia Pacific up 14 percent and Europe up 13 percent. Other overseas markets sales were flat.
