Jaguar Land Rover clocks highest October sales to date

At 46,325 units, JLR’s October 2016 sales are up 12 percent and year-to-date sales at 480,349 units are also up 12 percent.

The Tata Motors-owned Jaguar Land Rover has achieved its strongest October sales yet. Thanks to strong sales across Europe, the carmaker sold a total of 46,325 vehicles in October 2016, up 12% year on year.

The month’s performance was driven by improved sales of the Land Rover Discovery Sport, the Range Rover Evoque and the Jaguar F-Pace. The company has sold 480,349 vehicles in the first 10 months of 2016, up 23% on the same period in the prior year.

JLR has also seen solid retail sales growth across all key regions year on year: Europe is up 33%, China up 29%, North America up 25%, the UK up 22% and other overseas markets up 4%.

Commenting on the latest sales numbers, Andy Goss, Jaguar Land Rover Group Sales Operations director, said: "With our most engaging product line-up to date, we are continuing to see positive sales momentum. Impressive performances across Europe and China have boosted our year-to-date sales to over 480,000 vehicles.”

Jaguar recorded its best ever October, delivering 14,402 vehicles, up 92% on the previous year, reflecting continued success of the F-PACE. Calendar year-to-date sales for Jaguar were 117,768, up 74% year-on-year. 

On the other hand, Land Rover sold 31,923 vehicles in October, down 6% YoY. The best-seller for the month was the Discovery Sport, retailing 9,605 vehicles. Calendar year-to-date sales for Land Rover reached 362,581 vehicles, 12% up on the prior year.
