Israel’s Eyesight partners with China’s Hefei Zhixin for DriverSense

Israel-based Eyesight Technologies, leading provider of computer vision solutions, announced that it has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Chinese tier 1 automotive manufacturer Hefei Zhixin Automotive Technology (HZAT).

The initial deal marks the start of a broader strategic partnership between the two companies. The agreement also marks the beginning of a strategic partnership between HZAT and Eyesight Technologies, with further deals expected as Driver Monitoring technology rapidly becomes accepted as a gold-standard safety feature.

Eyesight Technologies produces advanced in-cabin computer vision solutions for motor vehicles, including the ‘DriverSense’ driver monitoring system. The DriverSense system watches a driver’s eyes, pupils, head and gaze to determine if the driver is paying attention to the road or is drowsy or distracted. This vital information can be used by a vehicle to prevent accidents.

Hefei Zhixin Automotive Technology, a Chinese tier 1 automobile vendor with a particular focus on Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS) and related technologies has relationships with major Chinese OEM auto brands including JAC Motors and bus manufacturer Anhui Ankai Automobile.

The agreement represents another important step in Israel-China business relations, with the two companies working together to deliver to the Chinese market cutting-edge safety and convenience solutions for drivers and passengers. The deal was signed at a ceremony in the presence of Wang Wensong, the deputy-Mayor of the city of Hefei, the head of Israel’s Economic and Trade Mission to East China, Einat Lev Rot and other government officials.

Eyesight Technologies’ EVP Global sales, Avi Rosenfeld, said “We’re excited to be deepening our commitment to the Chinese automotive market with this new strategic partnership and look forward to working with HZAT to keep drivers and passengers safer and more comfortable.”
