Hyundai packs a punch with upgraded Ioniq at LA Show

Korean passenger vehicle major, Hyundai introduced its eco-friendly and redesigned 2020 Ioniq with an increased driving range, higher charging speed and improved energy capacity.

Hyundai has lit up the Los Angeles Auto Show with its redesigned and eco-friendly 2020 Ioniq. The new Ioniq now gets a higher driving range of 170 miles (272km) compared to the 124 miles (198km) earlier and increased battery capacity along with charging speed.

The Ioniq Hybrid, plug-in hybrid and electric car come equipped with  infotainment technology and the new Hyundai SmartSense active safety features and driving assistance systems. Since its launch in 2016, the Ioniq has been the world’s first car planned from the start to offer three electrified powertrains – hybrid, plug-in hybrid and full electric. It is also Hyundai’s first alternative fuel vehicle engineered to provide outstanding efficiency.

For the 2020 model year, Ioniq has a new segment-first features like Highway Driving Assist (optional) and Lane Following Assist (optional) make long trips less stressful and more comfortable. In terms of safety, the new Ioniq models are equipped with a cutting-edge driver assistance system that constantly monitors the environment around the car alerting drivers about potential hazards while on the road. This system includes standard Forward Collision Avoidance Assist, High Beam Assist and a Drivers Attention Warning.  Incidentally, the Ioniq has officially maintained its maximum rating of five stars from the independent Euro NCAP for crash safety in August, 2019. The Ioniq Hybrid, Plug-in Hybrid and Electric versions of the new Ioniq all keep this maximum score.
