Honda sets all-time fiscal year production records
The record number were posted thanks to Honda's highest-ever production levels in Asia, China and North America.
Japanese carmaker Honda Motor Co has posted record numbers in 2015-16, for automotive production worldwide, thanks to its highest-ever production levels in Asia, China and North America.
Production in regions outside of Japan and overall worldwide production experienced a year-on-year increase for the fourth consecutive year (since fiscal year 2013).Whereas production in Japan experienced a year-on-year decrease for the second consecutive year (since Fiscal Year 2015).

For the month of March 2016, production in Japan saw a year-on-year increase for the third consecutive month (since January 2016). Meanwhile, production in regions outside of Japan experienced a year-on-year increase for the 13th consecutive month, setting record high production for the month of March. This includes record high production in Asia, and China.

Worldwide production saw a year-on-year increase for the 10th consecutive month (since June 2015), also setting record high production for the month of March.
Sales Performance
Honda’s total domestic automobile sales in the Japanese market for the fiscal year 2016 experienced a year-on-year decrease for the second consecutive year (since Fiscal Year 2015).

In March 2016, sales saw a year-on-year decrease for the fourth consecutive month (since December 2015).
New vehicle registrations experienced a year-on-year increase for the second consecutive month, with sales of mini-vehicles reporting a year-on-year decrease for the 17th consecutive month (since November 2014).
Exports
Among other highlights was the fact that total exports from Japan experienced a year-on-year increase for the first time in 5 years (since Fiscal Year 2011). Total exports from Japan in March 2016 saw a year-on-year increase for the ninth consecutive month (since July 2015).
