Harley-Davidson has introduced three new motorcycles to its India model lineup. These include the Breakout, a cruiser which will cost Rs 16,28,000 (ex-showroom Delhi), and will be assembled at Harley-Davidson’s plant in Bawal, Haryana.

The Breakout is also the first motorcycle from Harley-Davidson’s India line up to offer a Hard Candy Custom metal flake colour Quicksilver Flake. The other offerings include the Street Glide Special priced at Rs 29,70,000 (ex-showroom Delhi) and the CVO Limited (pictured),  launched at a price of Rs 49,23,793 (ex-showroom Delhi).  Custom Vehicle Operations motorcycles are limited edition hand-crafted originals.

“The motorcycles launched have always had an incredibly passionate following in India,” said Anoop Prakash, managing director, Harley-Davidson India. The company has 15 dealerships across the country.

On other fronts, Harley-Davidson is adding new product to its accessories range that includes MotorClothes jackets, boots, helmets and shirts.

In recent years, luxury bike manufacturers such as Triumph and Kawasaki have brought their products here to tap a growing market. At present, fully imported bikes above 800cc attract a 75 percent customs duty. Hence these companies have used the completely knocked down (CKD) route to make their products more affordable. Harley-Davidson was among the first to leverage the CKD route.
