Google Maps plugs into EV revolution

Users would be able to see the types of ports, charging protocols and the number of ports available on the EV charging station.

The Android version of Google Maps has recently been updated with a new feature where the user would be able to locate the nearest EV charging stations.

According to Google, a quick search for keywords like 'EV charging' or 'EV charging stations' will display the nearest supported stations. The update also features information about the business premise where the station is located, the types of ports available, charging speeds, and how many ports there are. Google has confirmed that the information on the EV charging station will also include details contributed by the drivers, including photos, ratings, reviews and questions.

Commercial premises that have charging stations will now feature a link to information about the chargers. The search engine giant has revealed that the desktop version of Google Maps will be updated in the coming weeks.
