Audi’s global sales up 2.5% in April

Audi AG has announced global sales of 152,850 cars in April 2015, a 2.5 percent increase year on year with demand in all regions of the world.

Audi AG has announced global sales of 152,850 cars in April 2015, a 2.5 percent increase year on year with demand in all regions of the world. From January to April, global sales grew by 5.2 percent to around 591,050 cars.

"Audi remains on course and has posted a solid sales performance in April. Despite the imminent generational change in key model families and markets, we surpass the record figures of the previous year," says Luca de Meo, Director of Marketing and Sales at Audi AG. "In the coming months we want to continue to grow worldwide." 

In the USA, sales were up 7.5 percent to 16,827 units with the Q model SUVs recording an increase of 35.6 percent to 6,447 units. Across all models, sales of Audi of America increased YTD by 11.9 percent to 56,925. Double-digit growth for April was reported in Canada  (+ 36.6% to 3,219 cars) and Brazil  (+ 67.5% to 1,856 cars).

In Europe, sales were flat – around 71,750, 0.9 percent more than a year ago. Major Western European markets such as Italy (+ 22.4% to 5,225 cars), Spain (+ 15.8% to 4,100 cars) and Sweden (+ 21.1% to 1,879 cars) were the growth drivers in April.  

In Russia, the negative market trend right from early 2015 continued in April with sales decreasing by one-third (31% to 8,248 cars).In Turkey though, sales grew to 6,829 units, representing an increase of 47.7 percent in the first four months of the year; in April, the growth amounted to 54.8 percent.

In China, sales were flat at 45,296 units (+ 0.2%); January-April sales total 178,612 cars, 5.2 percent more than in the same period of 2014.
