Apollo Tyres’ P K Mohamed wins Sustainability Professional of the Year award

In recognition of his tireless dedication and transformative leadership in sustainability, P K Mohamed, Chief Advisor, R&D, Apollo Tyres has been lauded as the ‘Sustainability Professional of the Year’ at the 10th edition of the Global Sustainability Leadership Awards 2023. This accolade was conferred upon Mr Mohamed at an event held recently in Mauritius.

Mr Mohamed’s achievements and pioneering endeavours in steering Apollo Tyres towards a sustainable future have been nothing short of exemplary. In his current capacity, he oversees the global development of sustainable raw materials, playing a pivotal role in propelling Apollo Tyres to achieve significant milestones in its sustainability journey. Under his visionary guidance, Apollo Tyres has charted a course towards sustainability by accomplishing notable milestones, including development of sustainable raw materials, innovative technologies for end-of-life tyre management, and the implementation of carbon neutrality improvement programmes.

Notably, Apollo Tyres has committed to a sustainability roadmap that involves integrating 40% sustainable materials into their production processes by 2030, making a substantial leap towards eco-conscious manufacturing practices. Additionally, the company has set its sights on achieving carbon neutrality by 2050, a testament to their unwavering dedication to environmental stewardship.
