Jaya Hind Industries and Montupet of France ink JV to make cylinder heads

Pune, July 11, 2013: Jaya Hind Industries, the Pune- based aluminium die casting company, has announced that it has entered into a joint venture with Montupet SA for the development and manufacture of automotive cylinder heads in India. Montupet is the world’s second largest manufacturer of cylinder heads. Montupet’s expertise also extends to safety parts like suspension parts, knuckles, control arms and brake master cylinders.

This joint venture will bring together the product development and concurrent engineering strengths of Montupet SA, and cost efficient manufacturing experience and in-depth market knowledge of Jaya Hind Industries (JHI). A combination of world-class technologies and cost-management competencies will be the core strength of this venture. Both JHI and Montupet will now be able to cater to the requirements of various OEMs not just in India but also in other Asian markets like China, South-East Asia and the Far East. With this joint venture, Montupet SA now extends its manufacturing footprint across Asia tapping into newer markets. JHI will have access to Montupet’s global technology to manufacture world-class automotive components and align it with the cost-effective manufacturing techniques.

JHI is India’s leading supplier of critical parts like cylinder blocks, cylinder heads, bed plates, cam carriers, oil sumps, engine covers, transmission housings, and engine carrying brackets to global auto OEMs like Ford, Renault-Nissan, Cummins, Mahindra & Mahindra, Maruti Suzuki, General Motors, Tata Motors and global Tier 1 suppliers like Bosch and ZF.
