BREAKING NEWS! Rane Brake Lining, RSB Transmissions bag highly coveted Deming honours
Mumbai, November 13, 2013: India, especially its automotive industry, has two new reasons to be proud of.
India, especially its automotive industry, has two new reasons to be proud of. Two Tier 1 suppliers – Rane Brake Lining and RSB Transmissions – have bagged the Deming Grand Prize and the Deming Prize respectively – both ranking as among the highest awards in the world in Total Quality Management (TQM). The awards were announced in Japan today. P S Rao, president of Rane Brake Lining, received the Deming Grand Prize award in Japan on November 13.
With this, the Rane Group becomes the first group outside Japan to have the Deming Grand Prize more than two times and three times in a row. In all, the Rane Group has won four Deming Prizes and three Deming Grand Prizes till date.

Meanwhile, RSB Transmissions, the flagship company of the RSB Group, has won the coveted award for the first time, for quality management at its auto division in Jamshedpur (Unit 1), Pune and Pantnagar plants.
R K Behera, chairman, RSB Group, received the Deming prize from Masahiro Sakane, vice-chairman, Deming Prize Committee, JUSE. M Sankaranarayanan president – Auto Vertical and G Krishnasami, VP (TQM), were also present at the ceremony. Commenting on the award, R K Behera said: “At RSB, quality has no finish line. We will always continue to enhance our quality, technology and management practices to delight our stakeholders”. While congratulating the RSB Team for its commitment and hard work, he said that in a few years, the company will vie for the highest Deming award – the Deming Grand Prize.
