VST Tillers Posts 38% Jump in Year-to-Date Sales Amid Power Tiller Surge

VST Tillers Tractors Ltd reported a 38% surge in year-to-date sales through August 2025, driven by strong demand for power tillers as India's farm mechanization accelerates. The company delivered 23,925 units compared to 17,341 units in the corresponding period last year.

Power tillers dominated the performance, with sales climbing 43% to 21,827 units year-to-date from 15,215 units previously. This contrasts with tractor sales, which declined slightly from 2,126 units to 2,098 units over the same period.

August sales reached 4,499 units, comprising 4,100 power tillers and 399 tractors, maintaining steady monthly performance compared to last year's 4,416 total units.

The results underscore VST Tillers' strengthening position in the power tiller segment, where the Bangalore-based manufacturer has carved out a significant niche. The company's performance comes as retail tractor sales across India increased from 125,418 units in October 2023 to 151,772 units in October 2024, reflecting broader sector momentum.

However, VST Tillers' pronounced tilt toward power tillers distinguishes it from larger competitors who focus primarily on tractors. The 43% growth in this segment suggests the company is capitalizing on specific demand patterns in India's diverse agricultural landscape, where smaller mechanization solutions often prove more practical for fragmented landholdings.

The figures, disclosed in regulatory filings to stock exchanges, carry the standard disclaimer that unaudited numbers may vary from final results. Despite mixed signals in individual product categories, the overall growth trajectory positions VST Tillers favorably as agricultural mechanization continues expanding across rural India.
