Royal Enfield January Sales Grow 14%; Dispatch Crosses 1 Million Units in FY27
Royal Enfield achieves 14% January sales growth and crosses one million FY27 units in record time, driven by strong sub-350cc demand, rising exports, and steady international expansion despite decline in premium segment.
Royal Enfield reported a 14% year-on-year growth in motorcycle sales in January 2026, selling 1,04,322 units, and crossed the milestone of one million units in cumulative dispatches in FY27 in a record 10 months.
The company had sold 91,132 motorcycles in January 2025. The January performance was led by strong demand for models with engine capacity of up to 350cc, which grew 18% year-on-year to 92,998 units, compared with 78,815 units in the year-ago period.
In contrast, motorcycles with engine capacity exceeding 350cc saw a decline during the month. Sales in this category fell 8% year-on-year to 11,324 units in January 2026, from 12,317 units a year earlier.
On a year-to-date basis from April 2025 to January 2026, total motorcycle sales rose 25% to 10,25,420 units, compared with 8,18,209 units in the corresponding period last year. Sales of motorcycles up to 350cc increased 28% year-on-year to 8,99,274 units, while volumes in the above-350cc category grew 10% to 1,26,146 units.
The international business, which is included in the overall volumes, also posted steady growth. Exports stood at 10,541 units in January 2026, up 5% from 10,080 units in January 2025. On a year-to-date basis, exports rose 30% to 1,09,731 units, compared with 84,301 units in the same period last year.
Commenting on the performance, B. Govindarajan, Managing Director of Eicher Motors Ltd and Chief Executive Officer of Royal Enfield, said, “The new year has begun on a positive note for Royal Enfield… We have crossed 1 million motorcycle sales in this financial year across the globe and also crossed 100,000 motorcycle sales in exports.”
