Nissan Motor India Reports 9.3% Growth in September Sales
The automaker sold 10,500 units in September 2025, driven by strong demand for the New Nissan Magnite and record export performance to South Asia markets, marking significant year-on-year growth.
Nissan Motor India has reported consolidated sales of 10,500 units for September 2025, representing a 9.3% year-on-year increase compared to 9,629 units sold in September 2024.
The sales figures comprised 1,652 units in domestic wholesale and 8,872 units in exports. The company achieved a milestone with 1,120 units exported to South Asia, marking the highest-ever monthly sales for Nissan in that region.
The sales growth was attributed to several factors, including revised GST slabs introduced by the Government of India. Nissan extended the GST benefits to customers, reducing prices on the New Magnite by up to ₹1 lakh. The pricing adjustment coincided with the Navratri festive season, which typically sees increased consumer activity in the automotive sector.
"September was an exciting month for Nissan Motor India," said Saurabh Vatsa, Managing Director of Nissan Motor India. He highlighted the New Nissan Magnite's GNCAP 5-star safety rating and the segment-first 10-year extended warranty as key factors resonating with customers.
The New Nissan Magnite has received a 5-star rating for Adult Occupant Protection and a 3-star rating for Child Occupant Protection from GNCAP. The vehicle features over 20 segment-leading features and more than 55 safety features.
Nissan recently introduced the Magnite Kuro Special Edition and a new Metallic Grey color option in response to customer demand. The Made in India vehicle is currently sold in over 65 countries across right-hand drive and left-hand drive markets.
The company is expanding its dealership network as part of its growth strategy, targeting 180 dealerships by the end of fiscal year 2025-26 and 250 by the end of fiscal year 2026-27. Nissan's future product pipeline includes an all-new 7-seater B-MPV, a 5-seater C-SUV, and a 7-seater C-SUV.
