MG Motor India Posts 9% Sales Growth in January 2026
Luxury models gain ground while the electric Windsor and new Hector drive volumes.
JSW MG Motor India sold 4,843 vehicles in January 2026, up 9% from the same month a year earlier, the company reported.
The automaker recorded a sales increase of 19% to reach 70,554 units for CY2025. December alone saw 6,500 units wholesaled.
January's performance was led by the MG Windsor electric MPV and the recently launched Hector facelift SUV. According to the company, its upmarket MG SELECT showrooms saw a bump in footfalls for the Cyberster sports car and M9 limousine, though specific sales figures for these models were not disclosed.
The automaker, a partnership between China’s SAIC Motor and India’s JSW Group, crossed 1 lakh electric vehicle sales during 2025. The Windsor remained the country’s bestselling passenger EV throughout last year.
MG plans to introduce the Majestor, positioning it as the first SUV in what it calls the D-plus segment, in February.
