Kia India Reports 10.3% Sales Increase in January 2026
Automaker posts double-digit growth following record-breaking 2025 performance in the Indian market
Kia India sold 27,603 vehicles in January 2026, representing a 10.3% increase compared to 25,025 units sold in the same month last year, the automaker announced on Saturday.
The January performance follows a strong 2025 for the South Korean manufacturer, which reported annual sales of 280,286 units in India last year—a 15% increase over 2024. The company recorded its best-ever December, with 18,659 units sold.
The automaker attributed January's growth to sales across its SUV lineup, including the recently launched second-generation Seltos, the compact Sonet, and the Carens models, including the Clavis and electric Clavis EV variants.
The new-generation Seltos, positioned in the competitive mid-size SUV segment, launched with pricing announced on January 2. The Sonet surpassed 100,000 units in sales for the second consecutive year in 2025, while competing in the high-volume compact SUV category.
"The encouraging start to 2026 reflects the continued trust customers place in the Kia brand," said Atul Sood, Senior Vice-President at Kia India, in a statement.
Globally, parent company Kia Corporation reported record 2025 sales of 3.14 million vehicles. For 2026, the company has set a global sales target of 3.35 million units, representing a 6.8% increase, with plans to expand hybrid offerings and launch updated models, including new versions of the Telluride and Seltos SUVs.
