'We want to grow with Japanese excellence and German innovation in transmission systems'
Lumax Auto Technolgogies which has a dominant market share in gear-shift levers aims to become a full-systems supplier in the transmission-product domain with its collaboration with Germany's Jopp to localise gear-shift control towers in India.
Lumax Auto Technologies (LATL) - the non-lighting arm of the Lumax DK Jain Group is eyeing to transform into a full-systems supplier in its flagship gear-shift selector business with its partnership with Germany's Jopp to expand its offerings into the gear shift tower space.
The company aims to capture a 20 percent share of the car- and SUV market in the country by 2025, with a claimed orderbook of 500,000 gear shift towers. Vikas Marwah, CEO, LATL, talks about the company's future technology roadmap, with a considerable shift towards automatic transmissions.
Marwah also showcases LATL's confidence in the potential of the Indian market and the company's readiness with enough capacity to cater to the growing demand from the PV and commercial vehicle segments. The company is planning expansion with a new plant in Pune to cater to demand for gear-shift selectors.
