Exclusive: Tour of Mahindra's latest battery laboratory at MRV, Chennai

With the accelerated pace of EV adoption in India, Mahindra & Mahindra is intensifying its efforts to develop breakthrough EV technology, including advanced batteries and propulsion systems. 

To augment its EV competencies, the company has set up an Electric Powertrain Development Center at the Mahindra Research Valley (MRV) in Chennai, that is set to play a key role in the development and testing of batteries and EV powertrains. 

R Velusamy, President, Automotive Technology and Product Development, Auto Sector, Mahindra & Mahindra, tells Hormazd Sorabjee, Editor, Autocar India, about the various tests the company is conducting at its state-of-the-art battery test lab to ensure development of reliable, safe, and high-performance EV drivetrain solutions for its upcoming range of Born Electric Vehicles.
