Tata Motors, India's leading automobile company, has reached a significant milestone in intellectual property rights (IPR) creation, filing a record-breaking 222 patents and 117 design applications in FY24, the highest in its history.
These filings encompass a wide range of product and process innovations, addressing critical automotive megatrends such as Connectivity, Electrification, Sustainability, and Safety (CESS).
Covering various vehicle systems including powertrain, body & trim, suspension, brakes, HVAC, and emission control, these patents underscore Tata Motors' commitment to engineering excellence and innovation.
In addition to the filings, Tata Motors secured its highest-ever grant of 333 patents during the same period, bringing its total tally of granted patents to over 850. This achievement highlights Tata Motors' dedication to developing cleaner powertrains, innovative designs, enhanced connectivity, and intelligent safety features that meet real-world needs. By prioritising consumer well-being and environmental sustainability, Tata Motors' research and innovation efforts have resulted in more efficient, greener, and safer vehicles, benefiting end-users and driving industry transformation, the company shared.
