Renault Nissan Automotive India Pvt Ltd (RNAIPL) has announced the successful conclusion of its Mobile Medical Van initiative for the year 2023. Staffed by a doctor and two nurses, RNAIPL’s Mobile Medical Van offers free medical check-ups and essential follow-up care at people’s doorsteps in villages that have limited access to healthcare facilities.

RNAIPL operated the Mobile Medical Van between January and October 2023, supporting free medical consultation and first-level treatment for close to 15,000 beneficiaries across 20 villages in Chengalpattu district. The Medical Van operated every week from Monday to Friday, visiting each of the 20 villages at least once every month ensuring consistent healthcare support.

In total, the Mobile Medical Van made 180 trips in 2023. Some of the common conditions diagnosed and treated by the Mobile Medical Van included fever, myalgia, upper and lower respiratory tract infections and other dermatological conditions. In case of conditions that were not immediately treatable, patients were referred to government primary health centres in nearby districts.

Keerthi Prakash, Managing Director of RNAIPL, said, "We believe that communities that have an increased awareness of the importance of health as well as access to healthcare are those that can better contribute to the sustainable progress of society. RNAIPL’s Mobile Medical Van initiative is a small step to make quality healthcare more accessible to the communities near our plant.”

RNAIPL first launched the Mobile Medical Van initiative in 2021 during the COVID-19 crisis. In that year, the van supported over 20,000 beneficiaries across 40 villages in Kanchipuram district, spreading awareness and information on the prevention of COVID-19 and other diseases.

RNAIPL’s Mobile Medical van also offers guidance on essential health matters such as vaccination, dengue prevention, anemia management, menstrual hygiene, diabetes care, hypertension management, as well as general health tips to foster a culture of health consciousness.

RNAIPL's dedication to making healthcare accessible has positively impacted the lives of thousands. The company remains committed to community welfare, continually exploring ways to make a positive contribution to society.
