Mercedes-Benz India and 'Government Engineering College Barton Hill, Kerala celebrate 10 years of Automotive Mechatronics course
This course is part of Mercedes-Benz India’s social initiative project, curated to offer latest EV technologies.
In 2012, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Mercedes-Benz India Limited and the Government of Kerala laid the foundation for the ADAM Course in the region, with the inauguration if the ADAM centre taking place in 2014.
Santosh Iyer, Managing Director and CEO, Mercedes-Benz India stated, "With the recent introduction of an industry-first EV module in the ADAM course at GECBH, Mercedes-Benz further upskills the students, making them ‘future ready’, at the same time contributing to the creation of a robust ecosystem for EVs."
"The hands-on, practical training experience has proven to be a boon, not only enhancing their learning but also significantly elevating their job prospects," said Dr. Shiny G., Principal of Government Engineering College Barton Hill.
The ADAM Course expanded its annual intake from 20 to 40 students in 2019, allowing for the training of two batches annually. Since its inception, the ADAM Course has successfully guided 215 students to completion across 13 batches.
Introduced in 2006, ADAM course is an initiative by Mercedes-Benz focused on building competencies and skills. It has been successfully operational in eight technical institutions in Trivandrum, Bangalore, Aurangabad, Pune, Ghaziabad, New Delhi and Greater Noida. Over 200+ students have benefited from the ADAM course since its inception and have been placed in important positions in India and abroad in the automotive industry.
