Kia launches Carens X-Line at Rs 18.94 lakh
The X-Line also comes with features such as an 8-speaker Bose sound system, panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats and a 10.25-inch front infotainment unit.
Kia has launched a new variant of the Carens MPV, the X-Line. Priced at Rs 18.94 lakh and 19.44 lakh for the turbo-petrol DCT and diesel AT variants, respectively, the X-Line sits at the top of the Carens range and gets exclusive styling and feature updates.
Kia Carens X-Line exterior
The Kia Carens X-Line gets an exclusive Matte Graphite paint scheme on the outside, and while certain elements like the front radiator grille garnish and the trim below the windows are finished in chrome, other elements like the radiator grille, front and rear bumper edges and the roof rails get a glossy black finish. The MPV runs on 16-inch crystal cut alloys, which is the same as other variants, but it gets a glossy black outline and a blacked-out centre cap. The X-Line also gets front brake callipers in a silver finish.
Kia Carens X-Line interior and features
On the inside, the Kia Carens X-Line gets a sage green and black colour theme with orange stitching on certain elements. Unlike the standard Carens, this variant is available exclusively in a 6-seater configuration with second-row captain seats. The highlight on the inside, however, is the new 10.1-inch infotainment unit that is placed behind the front passenger seat. The unit gets a screen mirroring function and other news and educational apps, with a remote control mobile app that can be used to control the rear infotainment screen.
The X-Line also comes with features such as an 8-speaker Bose sound system, panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats and a 10.25-inch front infotainment unit.
Kia Carens X-Line powertrains
The Kia Carens X-Line variant is available with two engine options: a 1.5-litre, turbo-petrol engine mated to a 7-speed DCT producing 160hp and 253Nm, and a 116hp, 1.5-litre diesel engine mated to a 6-speed AT.
Kia Carens price and rivals
The Kia Carens X-Line with the petrol DCT is priced at Rs 18.94 lakh and the diesel AT model is priced at Rs 19.44 lakh. The Carens rivals other MPVs such as the Toyota Innova Crysta, Maruti Suzuki XL6, Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and the Toyota Rumion.
