The Jawa Perak has been updated for 2024 with a new ‘stealth dual tone’ paint scheme that retains the dark theme of the previous model.

In addition to the new colour, the bike also gets a tan seat and brass detailing on the tank badge and the fuel cap. The most significant upgrade comes in the form of repositioned foot pegs that have been moved forward by 155mm. This was something the company originally did with the Jawa 42 Bobber and it’s an update that improved the comfort of the motorcycle.

The Perak continues to use a 334cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that makes 29.9hp at 7,500rpm and 30Nm at 5,500rpm. These are significantly higher numbers than the new Jawa 350. The company also claims segment leading performance, although it should be said that this is currently a segment of only two motorcycles: the Perak and its sibling the Jawa 42 Bobber.

The chassis remains the same although the company claims a new seven-step preload adjustable shock that attempts to improve the bike’s ride comfort, which was one of our complaints when we rode the Perak. Braking continues to be handled by a 280mm front disc and a 240mm rear disc with dual-channel ABS as standard.

Prices have been revised as well, with the Perak now costing Rs 2.13 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Meanwhile, Jawa has also revealed revised prices for the Jawa 42 Bobber, which starts at Rs 2.10 lakh and goes up to Rs 2.30 lakh. The only change to the 42 Bobber is the availability of alloy wheels and, as a result, tubeless tyres.
