Honda India Foundation organises ‘Health Mela’ in rural Haryana

As a part of its ongoing commitment to community welfare, Honda India Foundation recently organised a "Health Mela" in collaboration with Impact Guru Foundation, Rotary International, District Administration, and Deepalaya NGO. Held in the Mokalwas Village of Manesar, Haryana, this event aimed to raise awareness about rural health issues and provide essential medical services directly to the local residents.

The ‘Health Mela’ welcomed dignitaries including Vinay Dhingra and Katsuyuki Ozawa from Honda India Foundation, along with representatives from the District Administration and healthcare professionals. The event featured a range of activities such as Health Camps, Eye Check-up camps, Blood Donation Drives, Basic Medical Screening, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan initiatives, and assistance with government schemes like Aadhar card enrollment and correction.

Mokalwas Village, like many rural areas in India, faces challenges in accessing healthcare facilities, with residents often having to travel long distances for medical services. In response to these challenges, Honda India Foundation has been proactive in addressing healthcare needs through initiatives such as Mobile Medical Units (MMUs) and establishing Health Centers. The Health Mela served as an extension of these efforts, bringing essential healthcare services directly to the community, the company shared in a statement

Over 1000 beneficiaries participated in the Health Mela, receiving medical assistance and information on various health issues. The event also emphasised the importance of cleanliness and hygiene through Swachh Bharat Abhiyan awareness campaigns, promoting proper waste management and sanitation practices. Additionally, villagers were assisted with Aadhar card updates and corrections, essential for accessing banking services and social welfare schemes.
