Electric buses (eBuses) in Ladakh, specifically in Leh and Kargil regions, are making significant strides in the fight against climate change. Supplied by PMI Electro Mobility Solutions, these 19 eBuses have been operational for over a year, covering a remarkable distance of over 10,50,000 kilometers.
Carrying approximately 1500 passengers daily, these eBuses contribute positively to Ladakh's ecosystem with zero tailpipe emissions, no engine noise, and no vibrations, thereby reducing carbon footprint and noise levels.
The eBuses have curbed CO2 emissions by an estimated 25,20,000 kilograms since the commencement of their operations. Designed for passenger comfort, these buses feature cantilever mounting, plastic-molded seats, factory-fitted cameras for enhanced security, and an Intelligent Transportation Management System (ITMS) software for optimal management.
The buses are equipped with a state-of-the-art heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning system to ensure passenger comfort in Ladakh's extreme temperatures.
The adoption of eBuses in Ladakh highlights the region's commitment to responsible environmental measures and sustainable transportation solutions. PMI Electro Mobility Solutions aims to contribute to Ladakh's journey toward achieving 'Net Zero' goals and supporting global efforts to combat climate change.
