Ashok Leyland elevates Sanjay V Jorapur as President HR

Sanjay V Jorapur has been named president and head of human resources at Ashok Leyland, the Hinduja Group's flagship company in India and the country's largest manufacturer of commercial vehicles.

Amanpreet Singh, who is presently President and Head of Human Resources, will transition to a senior position at Hinduja Group in Mumbai.

Dheeraj G. Hinduja, Executive Chairman, said, “I am delighted to announce this appointment. Sanjay joins a strong leadership team and brings close to three decades of rich experience to Ashok Leyland. People are the foundational pillars for us to achieve our vision. Sanjay will drive the people agenda in line with contemporary global practices and steer the company’s human resources strategy in the current transformational context."

Sanjay Jorapur is a seasoned HR professional with leadership experience in the fields of engineering, technology, and automation. He was President of Group HR at HFCL Group before joining Ashok Leyland.

The development comes weeks after Dr. Andrew C Palmer left his position as a non-executive non-independent director on the board of Ashok Leyland, citing personal reasons. He began working for Ashok Leyland in November 2015, serving as an independent director until July 1, 2021, when he was appointed a non-executive non-independent director, beginning July 7.

Anuj Khaturia, the business's chief operating officer, resigned from his position earlier in June of this year. He spent more than 12 years working for the organisation.
