Wipro and FORVIA collaborate to enhance Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS)

Wipro Limited (NYSE: WIT, BSE: 507685, NSE: WIPRO), a global technology services and consulting firm, has collaborated with FORVIA (FRVIA), the world’s seventh-largest automotive technology supplier, to enhance FORVIA’s Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) applications.

Through this partnership, FORVIA utilised components from Wipro Engineering Edge’s Cloud Car Solution, including microservices and vehicle container architecture, to upgrade its vehicle safety and comfort applications. This update has enabled FORVIA’s ADAS applications to become less dependent on specific hardware, reduce maintenance costs, and seamlessly integrate with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) using a cloud-native framework.

An important aspect of the project was the integration of FORVIA’s surround-view technology, which merges external camera views into a 3D perspective, providing drivers with an enhanced view for safer and easier parking. The shift to a microservices-based architecture has also streamlined FORVIA’s software development lifecycle, enabling the company to offer individual ADAS features independently and integrate them with other ADAS solutions from various providers.

Graziella Neuvéglise, Regional Head & Managing Director, Southern Europe at Wipro Limited, expressed satisfaction with the collaboration, stating, “This project highlights our expertise in the Software Defined Vehicle domain, working with automotive leaders to refine safety and entertainment functions through cloud-native engineering principles. We look forward to continuing our work with FORVIA.”

Vanessa Picron, Electronics Europe Division VP at FORVIA, added, “The shift to microservices and container architecture is a strategic move to offer competitive, easily integrated functions for our customers. This partnership with Wipro reflects our shared vision and complementary expertise in automotive software solutions.”
