Volvo Trucks Highlights Sustainability and Safety Innovations at Bharat Mobility 2025

Volvo Trucks India unveiled its FM 420 4X2 LNG tractor and FM 4X2 tractor with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) at the Bharat Mobility 2025 event.

The FM 420 LNG tractor, equipped with High-Pressure Direct Injection (HPDI) technology, offers reduced emissions and operational costs, the company said.  It provides a 20% reduction in CO₂ emissions and can achieve up to 100% reductions when powered by Bio LNG, it added. The tractor is optimized for transporting hazardous goods and includes features like a spark-free operation and a 38 CuM tip-trailer with automatic tarpaulin systems to enhance efficiency in construction and mining operations, it said.

The FM 4X2 tractor with ADAS integrates technologies such as a Camera Monitoring System (CMS), Forward Collision Warning, Emergency Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Lane Departure Warning. These features aim to enhance road safety and improve operational efficiency for logistics providers.

Volvo also presented its Fuel Efficiency Services, combining telematics with Virtual Reality-based driver training. The Volvo Connect platform analyses driver performance data and provides personalised training to address skill gaps. The initiative is designed to improve fleet performance while supporting driver safety and well-being.
