Volkswagen India Opens First Performance Centre in Chennai

Volkswagen India has inaugurated its first Performance Centre in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, marking the beginning of a new retail strategy aimed at enhancing customer experience for its premium models, the Golf GTI and Tiguan R-Line. Located on Mount Road, the new facility is the first of 12 such centres planned across the country. A second Performance Centre has also been opened under Volkswagen Chennai, expanding the brand’s presence in the state.

With these additions, Volkswagen now operates 27 sales and 19 service touchpoints in Tamil Nadu. This move supports the company’s broader goal of strengthening its retail network and improving product accessibility.

The Performance Centres are designed to offer a retail environment focused on sensory engagement and personal interaction. According to Mr. Nitin Kohli, Brand Director, Volkswagen India, these facilities will serve customers seeking a more refined purchase experience aligned with Volkswagen’s premium product offerings.

Arun Uppuswamy, Managing Director of Volkswagen Mount Road, said the showroom aims to present the Golf GTI and Tiguan R-Line in a setting that reflects their premium positioning.

Volkswagen has trained personnel at these centres to assist customers with detailed knowledge about the vehicles, helping them understand the features and capabilities of the brand’s performance-focused lineup.
