Uno Minda Launches New Projector Headlights for 7-Seater Vehicles
The automotive component manufacturer introduces advanced headlight technology aimed at improving visibility and safety for MPV drivers across India's challenging road conditions.
Uno Minda, a tier-one automotive component supplier, has introduced new projector headlights for multi-purpose vehicles (MPVs) in the Indian aftermarket. The headlights feature Japanese optics technology with integrated projectors designed to improve visibility during night driving and adverse weather conditions.
The headlights include a hard-coated lens that resists shattering and yellowing, and silicon-coated reflectors to prevent rust. Priced at ₹5,200, they come with a one-year manufacturing warranty and are available through the company's website, e-commerce platforms, and retail stores nationwide.
"We believe that style and safety should go hand in hand," said Anand Kumar, Head of Product & Strategy for Aftermarket at Uno Minda Ltd. "Our newly launched headlights for 7-seater cars are designed to enhance both visibility and aesthetics, ensuring a superior driving experience."
The company cites safety concerns as the primary motivation behind the product launch. Inadequate lighting in challenging driving conditions increases accident risk, and many aftermarket alternatives fail to meet essential safety standards.
The MPV segment has seen significant growth in India's automotive market in recent years, appealing to families and fleet operators who value spacious interiors and versatility. This growth has created demand for aftermarket components that improve upon original equipment.
Established in 1958, Uno Minda has built a substantial presence in India's automotive component sector. The company's aftermarket division covers more than 30 product categories for various vehicle types, including switches, horns, lighting, sensors, mirrors, and batteries.
Uno Minda's distribution network encompasses 1,400 business partners, 40,000 retailers, and 70,000 service points across 600 districts in India. The company has also established an international presence with operations in Europe, the United States, Latin America, Africa, the Middle East, and various Asian regions.
The introduction of these specialized headlights aligns with increasing consumer focus on vehicle safety upgrades, particularly for family-oriented vehicles like MPVs where passenger protection is a priority concern.
