UMA Bootcamp Offers 30 Sponsored Motorsport Training Positions for Indian Engineers

United Motorsports Academy has launched UMA Bootcamp 2025, offering 30 sponsored positions for Indian engineering students and professionals aged 18-35 to participate in an 18-day motorsport training program in Madrid, Spain. The initiative, developed in partnership with RGB Racing Team, aims to provide participants with practical experience working on Porsche GT3 Cup cars.

The program will select five participants for confirmed internships with RGB Racing Team at events including the Porsche Sprint Cup Ibérica, 6 Hours of Abu Dhabi, or 24 Hours of Dubai. All 30 participants will receive training in vehicle dynamics, data acquisition, race strategy, and motorsport operations from professionals with Formula 1 and Le Mans experience.

Roberto Gómez Bueno, three-time Le Mans winner and Team Principal of RGB Racing Team, will serve as a mentor alongside Omkar Rane, Founder of United Motorsports Academy and D&O Motorsports. The program focuses on developing skills needed for careers in international motorsport engineering.

India's motorsport industry has grown in recent years, with increased participation in domestic racing series and growing interest in international competitions. However, opportunities for Indian engineers to gain experience with international racing teams remain limited, particularly due to financial constraints and geographic barriers.

The bootcamp addresses these challenges by providing sponsored positions that cover training costs. Participants will work directly with racing equipment used in professional competitions, gaining experience that is typically difficult to access in the Indian market.

Applications require a video submission, online form completion, and a registration fee of INR 15,000 plus GST. Even applicants not selected for the final 30 positions will receive access to online masterclasses and mentorship opportunities through UMA's network.

The program represents an expansion of efforts to connect Indian engineering talent with international motorsport opportunities. Traditional pathways into motorsport engineering often require significant financial investment and industry connections that can be challenging for Indian students to access independently.

RGB Racing Team competes in various European racing series and has experience in endurance racing events. The team's involvement provides participants with exposure to professional racing operations and potential career advancement opportunities in European motorsport.

The application deadline and specific program dates have not been disclosed. Interested candidates can apply through United Motorsports Academy's official channels.
