Tata AutoComp Systems Ltd. has finalized the acquisition of International Automotive Components Group Sweden AB's assets, marking a significant expansion of the Indian manufacturer's European operations. The acquired entity, which generates approximately USD 800 million in annual revenue, will operate under the new name Artifex Systems AB.

The transaction positions Tata AutoComp to strengthen relationships with European original equipment manufacturers across both passenger and commercial vehicle segments. The company describes the move as a milestone in expanding its global presence as one of India's largest automotive component manufacturers.

Artifex Systems AB operates three production facilities in Låssby (Gothenburg), Färgelanda, and Skara, employing approximately 1,800 personnel. The company supplies interior and exterior systems to major European manufacturers including Volvo Cars, Volvo Trucks, and Scania, with capabilities in plastic molding, precision painting, and assembly operations.

Arvind Goel, Vice Chairman of Tata AutoComp Systems Ltd., indicated the acquisition aligns with the company's strategy to enhance its global presence and deepen European OEM relationships. He outlined plans to consolidate Artifex Systems AB, Artifex Slovakia, and Artifex Interior Systems under a unified brand identity.

Manoj Kolhatkar, MD & CEO of Tata AutoComp Systems Ltd., highlighted the acquired company's advanced manufacturing capabilities and skilled workforce expertise in automotive interior and exterior systems.

The acquisition received positive responses from diplomatic representatives of both nations. Anurag Bhushan, Ambassador of India to Sweden, characterized the transaction as reflecting collaboration potential between the two countries. Jan Thesleff, Ambassador of Sweden to India, noted the acquisition would ensure customer continuity, employment protection, and manufacturing capability strengthening.

Tata AutoComp Systems operates through 21 business units, including 11 joint ventures with international technology partners, managing 66 manufacturing facilities across India, North America, Latin America, Europe, and China. The company's product portfolio spans interior and exterior components, HVAC systems, seating solutions, and electric vehicle technologies including battery packs and thermal management systems.
