STUDDS Launches Ninja Comet Flip-Up Helmet at ₹1,420
The company launches ₹1,420 Ninja Comet flip-up helmet—the brand’s first in the value segment—featuring a sun visor, BIS certification, and lightweight design.
STUDDS Accessories Ltd has announced the launch of its Ninja Comet helmet in India. This marks the company's first flip-up helmet in the value segment.
The Ninja Comet is the latest addition to the Ninja series, which was first introduced in 1995 and has since seen 10 model iterations. The new helmet features a built-in sun visor, a sporty spoiler design, and weighs approximately 1,275 grams.
The helmet is constructed with a high-impact grade outer shell and regulated density EPS (Expanded Polystyrene) for impact protection. It includes removable and washable cheek pads with a hypoallergenic liner designed for extended wear in hot and humid conditions.
Key features include a quick-release visor mechanism, an integrated sun visor for glare protection, and aerodynamic spoiler styling. The helmet meets BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) safety requirements and carries ISI certification, complying with Indian safety norms.
The STUDDS Ninja Comet is priced starting at ₹1,420 and is available in five color options across multiple sizes. The helmet can be purchased through offline retail stores, STUDDS exclusive outlets, and the company's official website at shop.studds.com. The company has indicated that availability on other e-commerce platforms will follow.
According to company information, STUDDS Accessories Ltd. operates three manufacturing facilities with a combined annual production capacity of 9.04 million units. The company reported sales of approximately 7.10 million helmets in fiscal year 2024 and markets its products in over 70 countries under the STUDDS and SMK brand names.
India's helmet manufacturing industry has grown significantly alongside the country's two-wheeler market, which is among the largest globally. The industry serves a diverse consumer base ranging from budget-conscious daily commuters to premium motorcycle enthusiasts.
The market is dominated by several established domestic manufacturers including STUDDS, Steelbird, and Vega, which together account for a substantial portion of helmet sales in the country. International brands such as MT Helmets, LS2, Axor, and Royal Enfield also compete in the mid-range and premium segments.
The industry has evolved considerably since mandatory helmet laws were introduced, with manufacturers focusing on meeting ISI certification standards while offering improved safety features, comfort, and design aesthetics. The market spans multiple price points, from basic open-face helmets starting around ₹500 to premium full-face models exceeding ₹15,000.
Growing awareness about road safety, stricter enforcement of helmet laws in major cities, and rising disposable incomes have contributed to increased demand for quality helmets. The industry has also witnessed a shift toward flip-up and modular designs, improved ventilation systems, and integrated sun visors as consumers seek greater convenience and functionality.
