SML ISUZU to Supply 114 Troop Carriers to Indian Air Force
The contract is valued at ₹24.71 crores.
SML ISUZU Limited has announced securing a significant order from the Indian Air Force (IAF) for the supply of BS VI, 4-Wheel Drive Troop Carriers. According to the company's disclosure to stock exchanges on March 12, 2025, the contract is valued at ₹24.71 crores for 114 units.
The order was awarded by the Department of Military Affairs under the Ministry of Defence following a standard Government e-Marketplace (GeM) tender process. As per the contract terms, SML ISUZU will deliver troop carriers with 20-seat capacity between March 11 and July 9, 2025.
The company confirmed in its regulatory filing that the contract does not involve any related party transactions, and none of its promoters or group companies have any interest in the awarding entity.
This development represents a notable achievement for SML ISUZU in the defense procurement sector, showcasing the company's capability to meet military-grade transportation requirements. The order could potentially strengthen the company's position in the specialized vehicle segment.
SML ISUZU, listed on both the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and National Stock Exchange (NSE) with scrip codes 505192 and SMLISUZU respectively, made this disclosure in compliance with SEBI regulations governing material business developments.
The company's shares may see movement in response to this announcement as investors evaluate the impact of this government contract on SML ISUZU's financial outlook for the fiscal year.
