Servotech Power Systems has bagged a contract to install 12 EV charging stations from the Agency for New and Renewable Energy Research and Technology (ANERT), Department of Power, Govt. of Kerala.

It will build 12 electric vehicle (EV) charging stations with 30KW Fast DC EV Chargers at the various locations of Kerala Motor Vehicle Department, as per the press release. This contract involves Servotech supplying, commissioning, and construction of EV charging stations.

This pilot project whose execution has already begun will be executed in phases with the first phase involving the installation of 4 EV charging stations and the 2nd phase will involve the installation of 8 EV charging stations.

As the country ushers in the era of electric vehicles (EV), South India is becoming the auto industry’s preferred base for manufacturing and exports.

The rising preference for hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) as they help to improve fuel economy, lower fuel costs, and reduce emissions, is favouring the growth of the market in the region. Apart from this, the growing investment in installing EV charging stations across South India is creating a positive outlook for the market.

According to a report by research firm CBRE Research June 2023, southern states account for around 33 percent of India's EV manufacturing and around 23 percent of sales.

"Our efficient hardware and software solutions will ensure dependable EV charging stations, catering to the growing demand for sustainable travel options," said Sarika Bhatia, Director of Servotech Power Systems.
