Oben Electric, a homegrown electric motorcycle manufacturer, has secured Rs 50 Crores in its Series A funding round, bringing the total equity funding raised by the company to Rs 150 Crores to date. The funding round saw participation from Ambis Holding US, Kuberan Ventures, Karimjee Group from Africa, Mission Vertical (a US-based VC), the Sanjeev Saraf (Polyplex) Family Office, Pravek Kalp Family Office, and other existing investors.

The funds will be used to expand Oben Electric’s product offerings and distribution network. The company plans to establish more than 100 showrooms across 50 cities in India by FY26. Additionally, the funds will support the expansion of Oben Care service centers, further strengthening its presence in the Indian electric motorcycle market.

Oben Electric currently operates in 10 cities, including Bengaluru, Delhi, Jaipur, Lucknow, Pune, Kochi, and Thiruvananthapuram, with over 20 showrooms. The company offers four electric motorcycle variants and operates a manufacturing facility with an annual production capacity of 100,000 vehicles. Its flagship product, the “Rorr” e-motorcycle, has helped establish Oben Electric as one of the key players in the electric motorcycle segment.

Although electric motorcycles currently make up only 1% of India’s motorcycle market, the recent funding highlights investor confidence in the growing transition to electric vehicles, with Oben Electric positioned as a prominent player in this shift.

The motorcycle is designed with modern features, including a digital instrument cluster, fast charging capabilities, and Bluetooth connectivity for easy integration with smartphones.

In addition to the Rorr, Oben Electric has expanded its portfolio to include other variants, each tailored to meet different consumer preferences and needs. These models are built with a focus on lightweight construction, durability, and efficiency, offering a competitive edge in the Indian electric motorcycle market.

The motorcycles are designed with a regenerative braking system, that improves safety and increases energy efficiency. The tubeless tires provide a comfortable ride across diverse road conditions. Oben Electric’s motorcycles also come with multiple riding modes.
